This lesson linked really well with our class topic of the Rainforest. 

During this lesson the pupils explored the school grounds and discussed the different types of trees found using their Tree Identification Sheet. They took photos of any of the leaves found and discussed these as a class.

The pupils also found certain leaves like sycamore and oak leaves which we did not have a tree for in the school grounds. Pupils then thought about how these leaves might have got there and came to the conclusion that they may have blown in from neighbouring fields or gardens. We then researched these trees and made a research sheet to go with it.
