Today in Primary One, we were looking at heavy and light items. Linking with our class theme of the Three Little Pigs, we decided to investigate weight by huffing and puffing like the big bad wolf. We looked at different types of materials for example, cotton wool, wooden and plastic bricks, pom poms, wooden lolly pop sticks, feathers and stones. We huffed and puffed to see if the chosen materials would blow off our hands just like the big bad wolf blew down the little pigs' houses. The children made predictions and then tested out the materials. We concluded if the items blew off our hands that item was light, if it didn't it was heavy.
