We have been learning how volcanoes are formed and what causes them to erupt.  Today in our Extreme Earth topic we followed instructions to make our own volcanic eruption.  We used baking soda, water, red food colouring, washing up liquid and the final ingredient, vinegar.  When we added the vinegar the chemical reaction made the liquid ‘erupt’ from the cup.  We did this outside as we did not want to ruin our carpet in the classroom! We made a bit of a mess but we had fun and made a lot of noise.
