For the final lesson of our Birds literacy unit we planned a bird trek and then enjoyed putting it into action. We observed a lot of crows and blackbirds flying around the grounds of school. We heard their song and watched as they swooped and dived. When we got back into the classroom we listened to various bird songs to identify the songs we heard.
Leela kindly brought in some photographs of a bird’s nest she had found in her garden. The thrush made their nest in a low cherry tree. They laid eggs and Leela was able to see the chicks when they hatched. Thanks for bringing these amazing photographs in to school to show us.
