Today was Ancient Egypt Day in Primary 4 and 5. We started the day by taking some photos together.
After that Mrs Wilson put us into 5 groups, each named with a god or goddess from Ancient Egypt. There were 5 activities planned so we all got a chance to participate in each activity.
When ‘Walk Like an Egyptian’ played we had to walk like an Egyptian to the next activity.
We used cardboard, bells and string to make an Ancient Egyptian percussion instrument called a Sistrum.
We played the game of Senet, tried to make a pyramid with dried spaghetti and marshmallows, designed masks, found hieroglyphs, completed exercises and decoded a word. We were so busy we did not have time to make bread.
Lastly, we recorded one thing we had learned about the topic of Ancient Egypt. We had a great day and look forward to our visit to the Ulster Museum tomorrow.
Thank you for your enthusiasm today Primary 4 and 5.
