For our first activity we made a list of items we needed to set up a garden centre in our outside play space. We gathered items from our classroom that we could use and began making flowers and plants to sell.
First we collected sticks and leaves outside and stuck on painted handprints. These were arranged into paper cones to make flower bouquets.
During Play, Charlie made a flower from K’nex and suggested we could use it for our garden centre. This inspired others to make various shapes and sizes of flowers from K’nex (including some buds) and arranging them into potted plants by adding some greenery from outside.
We also used muffin cases and various craft items to make small flowers and added leaves from outside.
Lastly, we made labels for the storage boxes and packets to sell and arranged everything in our play area.
We worked very hard and had lots of fun playing in our garden centre 😃
